Say Goodbye to these 2013 web designs
Everybody’s doing year-end wrap ups of 2013 and all eyes are set on the road ahead of us. Many things had happened over the past year and some are game changing, and what does it mean for web designing in 2014? New trends for web designs of course. Newer concepts and ideas will surface to overtake the existing trend designs and while some has to stay, other have no other choice but to move some steps backward not necessarily because they’re not good but only failed to create substantial impact or from the start had failed to deliver what’s expected from them. Here are in our opinion some web designs that will slowly disappear in 2014 or really has to say goodbye for good.
Extensive Fill-Out Forms
With the explosion of the mobile, long and extensive fill-out forms has to go away to give way to short and concise user’s information sheet. Everybody is moving to mobile and everybody must adhere to this on-the go concept. Mobile users won’t stick too long to fill up long forms and websites are slowly realizing that in order to keep users is to adapt to their on-the-go modes. With everybody moving to mobile, even regular websites have to go for shorter info sheet for their users. Bingo sites moving to mobile have gotten rid of this web design.
It used to amuse web visitors but the amusement had turned to distractions and boredom. It’s true that videos are great and flash web design gets its cue from here however web visitors who want more control of their surfing get distracted and tend to go away which is not good for websites. We’re not saying little surprises in the web have to go but websites have to upgrade and choose more than the outdated flash designs.
Circular Script Logos
It’s been overused so it has to go. There’s nothing wrong with using script font within a circle that is either outlined or filled but it seems that everybody else has it on his or her websites. Website in order to attract has to be unique and stands out from the rest so if this web design is all over the web what else is there to be different? This web design is good and somehow will resurrect someday but for now it has to say goodbye for a while.
The overall look of the website is what counts most. Having lots of icons, fonts, features and design element may give attractive look on website however; the overall look may not be that pleasant. Distractions are what web designer always avoids when doing and contemplating designs for a website. He has to give importance to the fact that not all web visitors are techie- savvy so the concept of getting everything simple overrules all other rules. It is unlikely to see successful complicated websites in 2014 but simple and yet beautiful websites are more likely to earn success badge. It looks like that many sites offering bingo games have seen the upcoming demise of this web design, and opt to simpler and less complicated design for 2014.
Using too Many Fonts
It’s obviously crowding the website’s overall appearance. Using too many fonts contradict the simple rule of simplicity and plainness. Many designers are now opting to use two or three types of fonts to present website’s identity and stick to its branding image. These web designs have done their part but no matter how much we want them to stay, for the sake of a better web designing, we have to let them go and have them rest on their laurels for good. Let’s keep our finger cross for what 2014 web designing has to offer to keep the industry alive and booming.
